PIECES OF HEART

So someone once asked me "when you are not on the blog and not at work, what do you do you do?" well in my free time i love to write because i believe it is my avenue of expression and so, when i am not blogging i am writing, poems in particular and these are my favorite ones and i though i would share them with you. I was a little skeptical about it at first but my friend Wanjiru Gaitho, spurred me on so Shiro thanks:

The first poem is about wisdom, in life we make so many decisions that we later realize is wrong and i realized that it is basically because we lack wisdom. I define it as the ability to activate character.So what is character?, it is doing the right thing even when an opportunity to do wrong presents itself, and it is also the ability to act right and leave people and things better. So lets bring it home: Wisdom is the ability to activate your capacity to do the right thing even when an opportunity to do wrong presents itself and thus you make people and things better: Here is the poem , let me know what you think about it.


Tides come and waves surf,
Once I thought I had it enough!
Yet out of the corner of saccharine joy,
Came a lovely dame,

You see she is different, she understands,
When rains come under me she stands,
She’s not moved by my many brands,
Steadfast and pure are her ways,

I thought I had seen it all,
Thought I'd experienced life, the call,
Hit the wall, had the pitfall
And suffered withdrawal,

But then….like a response she came;

The door knob of my heart turned,
I thought for sure I had the key,
To lock out Tiffey,Tina or Milley,
But alas it swung unbolt,
It was ready to ride my heart again like a colt!

See I pride myself of being the man,
But she makes me do things even without a gun,
Its not robbery, no callous pursuit,
Neither is it a cold chimney of hurt laced with soot,

She doesn’t treat me like a beast of burden, no am no mule,
She doesn’t flank me with sarcasm and feed me ridicule,
Crue,l fuel, for duel,
Discord, pains Chord anger’s sword!
Good Lord!

She’s nothing like that, she’s calm,
My pains palm, my life’s alm,
My heart’s alarm!
a floating swan, together we are one,
we are a kingdom;
Her name is Wisdom

PROVERBS 4:7-8 Wisdom is the principle thing and in all thy getting get understanding, exalt her and she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee honor, when thou embrace her
JAMES 1:5 if any of you lack wisdom let him ask God who gives liberally…
ECCLESIASTES 7:11-12 Wisdom is good with an inheritance, wisdom is a defense and money is a defense but the Excellency of knowledge is that wisdom giveth life to them that have it
