CAN WE TALK....

Each time I stay away from writing either I get soo busy or I am piling up ideas on what to write on or I am simply in a moment of reflection, which I have been doing a lot of lately. Fear, anger, happiness these are just some of the feelings that I have been going through and putting through the filter of reason and allowing it to flow into the jar of my heart. Its been a month for me, my aunt passed away, which was a very painful heart wrenching time for me. She meant the world to me….Sigh R.I.P Aunt Janet. So this is an open post, I know most of the others I have been spuring and urging you on, but I like what my mentor Bishop Allan Kiuna says to me “ can we just talk!” when he sas that you know its about to get really real! I am just going to share about what I have seen and what probably felt during this time…

I believe that God in His infinite wisdom created all of us different
, our values may not be the same, but that is ok because we all hail from different backgrounds and at the core we have been through different situation, and the themes of our lives as it were are all different. This means then that as another one of my mentors Peter Opondo says we must learn to understand “peoples idiosyncrasies “simply put we must know who we are around. Society today is full of a brand of people who want so much to be understood and loved and cared for but are not willing to reciprocate the same. Think about it, often times we take other people for granted. My aunt lived 5 minutes away from my workplace but I can count on one hand the number of times I went to visit her versus the number of times she called and texted and just wanted to find out how I am doing, she was always loving and caring..but sometimes we never reply those texts do we? Its not that we don’t want to just that we mental note it or don’t “have the time to”(which is really a bad excuse), or perhaps it has become too common, for us right? You are probably thinking..Wrong but you know what I am talking about. We simply do not esteem people as we should, instead we take them for granted.. ” Pause for a minute and think about that and then I remembered what Joyce Meyer said “ You may think the grass is greener on the other side, but you will soon realize, yo gotta mow the lawn there as well” and then I coined my own, “ Fires just need a spark to ingnite them and sometimes we fuel the sparks without knowing, soon we have burnt and lost everything”

So I sat and thought about all of these situations and came to the following conclusion(s). Dear friends, let us not take anybody for granted, let us cultivate the true virtues of trust and faithfulness in this generation, let us always be wary, never brush anything aside, be careful to treat people right and be aware of the needs of other people. There are people in your life that care for you, and often times you get so used to them as it were that you involuntarily start taking them for granted, but who knows when their time with you will be up? Everybody has what I call a push-limit.. Is that thing you are doing causing you to drift or move closer to the people you love? How about we weigh the options 1st, what is at stake? Is it worth the risk? That way it shall be well. The reality is this, God loves people and so should we. In this day and age everybody want to feel loved, appreciated and valued, allow yourself to believe again, forget the scars, focus on the future, treat people right, get out of the “me box” Learn to believe in people, just because someone wronged you or falls short in one department does not mean you should drop them for another .Finally do not think that the people around you don’t realize when they are being shortchanged, don’t compare people but realize we are all unique and sometimes you could have the best yet settle for the rest. Hope this opens our eyes and allows us to make love contagious becasue God is love, lets spread the love.

ENOUGH SAID..
